Creative fill… What does that even mean?

Creative is defined as:

adj. relating to or involving the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work.

Fill is defined as:

v. put someone or something into (a space or container) so that it is completely or almost completely full.

There isn’t an actual definition if you look up creative fill, but if you put the two definitions above together:

to put imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work into a space so that it is completely full or almost completely full.

I define it as:

growing, connecting, learning something new, getting refueled, gathering ideas, mentoring, giving and gaining advice + so many more things.

Something I am really focusing on this year is making sure I get my creative fill and in turn creatively filling others, especially on days when I’m not booked on shoots. It’s good to keep busy, but you may not be booked every single day and that’s okay! It’s good to have days where you can spend the day editing, working on your website or putting together a mood board.

DO THOSE THINGS WITH ANOTHER CREATIVE

I find myself constantly looking at blogs of other photographers or social media experts or other creatives, but it’s even better to meet those people in real life! It’s great to be able to chat about what they’re doing and what I’m doing and see if there is a way we can help one another.

It really is motivating and keeps me creatively fueled when I meet with other creatives. Go out and connect with other creatives! Feel free to shoot me an email if you’d like to grab coffee & chat! I’m all for it!
